On Friday evening, October 24, a pedestrian died in a crash on East 139th Street close to Compton, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). CHP officers were notified at approximately 7:23 p.m. toward East 139th Street and Avalon Boulevard. Preliminary accounts suggest that a white car hit a person on the road, according to CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig. Upon their arrival, paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department declared the victim deceased at the scene. The individual’s name, age, and gender have not been disclosed. Officials indicated that it is currently uncertain if the incident was a hit-and-run. The reason for the collision is still being investigated. We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the victim’s family. Summary of the East 139th Street Collision. When a pedestrian is hit and killed, investigators usually examine the Pedestrian Right-of-Way Law. This law mandates that drivers take necessary precautions to prevent striking pedestrians crossing the street and to reduce speed when pedestrians are nearby. Investigators will probably evaluate the lighting, traffic conditions, and visibility during the time of the accident. If the driver left the scene or did not offer help, the Hit-and-Run Statute would come into effect.
