In Laguna Beach, CA, a woman believed to be connected to a hit-and-run that occurred earlier was fatally injured in an unrelated accident on El Toro Road on Wednesday evening, as reported by the Laguna Beach Police Department. Police arrived at the scene shortly after 7 p.m. On October 8, there were reports of a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle on El Toro Road, located south of the overpass of the 73 Toll Road. Emergency personnel provided care to a 46-year-old woman at the location before taking her to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. Regrettably, medical professionals declared the person deceased. The identity of the woman has not been made public. Authorities suspect that she was the driver of a U-Haul truck that was part of a hit-and-run incident that occurred earlier the same day in Rancho Mission Viejo. The other driver trailed her until she halted and parked the truck close to the outgoing lane of El Toro Road, partially obstructing traffic. According to police, the woman exited the vehicle and started walking down the road. In the meantime, onlookers tried to shift the truck from its position. Soon after, she was hit by a vehicle as she was crossing the road.
