(Santa Maria, CA) At approximately 7:04 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, The incident on Miller Street close to Dena Way resulted in serious injuries for a mother and her six-year-old daughter, as authorities investigated the scene to uncover the cause of the crash. The Santa Maria Police Department reported that the pair was navigating Miller Street through an unmarked crosswalk. Out of nowhere, a car hit them. Responding law enforcement and emergency personnel discovered the mother and her child suffering from severe injuries and took them to a local hospital. Medical professionals reported that she is in stable condition, but her mother’s status is still unclear. Authorities indicated that the driver remained on-site and assisted with the investigation. It is not thought that drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident, which is still being thoroughly investigated by the Traffic Bureau of the department.
