San Jose, CA (October 1, 2025) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a significant car accident on Tuesday afternoon on the northbound lanes of Interstate 280, close to the Highway 87 interchange, a busy area in central San Jose. The accident was reported around 12:36 p.m. on the 30th of September. The San Jose Fire Department crews from Station 3 activated a Delta-level emergency response, signifying a critical medical situation. The accident allegedly included at least one vehicle, but the precise number of individuals impacted is still unverified. Emergency medical personnel and firefighters arrived promptly to evaluate the situation. Although complete information about the injuries has not been disclosed, the type of emergency response indicates that at least one person was injured in the accident. Traffic in the vicinity was probably affected while emergency personnel handled the situation and provided assistance. This section of I-280 is recognized for its fast-moving vehicles and complicated merging areas, especially around the Highway 87 interchange. Officials have not revealed if the speed, the actions of the driver, or the state of the road played a role in the accident. The inquiry is still in progress.
