(Los Angeles, CA) A memorial is being erected by the roadside on the Pacific Coast Highway as relatives and friends remember 35-year-old Sergio Maya, who was a victim of a hit-and-run incident. The accident on the Pacific Coast Highway prompted immediate calls to 911 from nearby motorists and businesses. At 12:55 p.m. on Thursday, September 25. Individuals who called in reported an accident involving a motorcycle close to Western Avenue. Upon the officers’ arrival, bystanders recounted seeing a silver van making a left turn against the flow of eastbound vehicles. Shortly after, an older pickup collided with Sergio Maya as it was heading west on PCH. According to the officers who arrived at the scene, neither driver halted following the collisions. Paramedics worked to save Maya and ensured the area was safe for the crews. Despite swift medical attention, emergency responders declared Sergio Maya deceased at the location. Investigators identified areas of debris and took pictures of new gouge lines on the road.
