The crash location was identified as southbound State Route 17 near Summit. CHP dispatch information did not specify the number or types of vehicles involved.
A later update at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 18 stated that all southbound lanes were blocked for towing operations. The update indicates the roadway remained fully obstructed several hours after the initial collision report.
CHP did not provide information about injuries or the circumstances leading to the crash. The available dispatch record documented the ambulance response and the subsequent lane blockage for vehicle removal.
