A traffic collision was reported near mile marker 166 on eastbound Highway 20 in California on the morning of Sept. 7, 2026. The incident was logged at about 7:50 a.m. in the California Highway Patrol’s Santa Maria area, with an ambulance reported en route.
At about 7:58 a.m., a reporting party told CHP that she had made contact with a male pedestrian. The man said he had been involved in a traffic collision and that his car was out of sight.
The dispatch information did not identify the vehicle involved or describe the circumstances of the collision. It also did not provide a confirmed injury assessment for the man.
The available CHP update placed the reported incident on the eastbound side of Highway 20 near the listed mile marker. No additional roadway closures, lane restrictions or later developments were included in the dispatch information.
