A traffic collision was logged on Dons Road in the Alturas area at about 7:25 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2026. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as involving unknown injuries.
The dispatch location was listed along a section of Dons Road. No vehicle descriptions, travel directions or lane closures were included in the available CHP information.
At approximately 7:40 a.m., the sheriff’s office advised that fire personnel had located a phone. The dispatch entry did not state whether the phone belonged to anyone involved in the collision.
The available report did not provide additional information about injuries, the number of vehicles involved or any roadway obstruction. CHP recorded the incident within its Alturas area.
