A traffic collision was reported Sunday afternoon on northbound State Route 85 south of the Blossom Hill Road off-ramp in the San Jose area. The California Highway Patrol received the report at approximately 3:46 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2026, and the incident was classified as involving unknown injuries.
The dispatch location placed the crash on northbound Highway 85, just south of Blossom Hill Road. CHP later noted that the collision occurred between the Cottle Road and Blossom Hill Road areas.
The initial update was issued at about 3:49 p.m. It described a traffic collision between Cottle Road and Blossom Hill Road but did not provide vehicle descriptions or state how many vehicles were involved.
