A hit-and-run collision with no reported injuries was logged Aug. 23 on West Charter Way at South Lincoln Street, near a Denny’s restaurant. The incident was reported at 3:43 p.m. in California.
The location was identified near the Martin Luther King roadway and the intersection with South Lincoln Street. CHP classified the incident as a hit-and-run involving no injuries.
A 3:53 p.m. dispatch update stated that the suspect had gone to buy gum, reportedly to cover the smell of alcohol on the person’s breath. The dispatch information did not establish whether alcohol played a role in the collision.
CHP dispatch records did not provide additional details about the vehicles involved, the extent of any property damage, or whether traffic lanes were blocked. No injuries were reported in the available information.
