Los Angeles, CA (May 7, 2026) – A motorcyclist suffered injuries Thursday morning after being struck in a hit-and-run on northbound US-101 near the Glendale Boulevard off-ramp. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after 5:09 a.m. following reports of a truck colliding with a motorcycle. Officials closed all lanes temporarily as emergency responders aided the injured rider and secured the scene. Authorities reported that the motorcyclist, identified only as Rodriguez, was taken to LA General Hospital for treatment. The severity of the rider’s injuries remains undisclosed. Tow crews were dispatched to clear the wrecked motorcycle from the road. Additional information about the suspect vehicle in the hit-and-run incident has not been released. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, and further details will be shared as they become available. Our thoughts are with the injured rider during their recovery.
Why Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Crashes Can Be Especially Dangerous. Motorcycle riders are at greater risk of severe injury in crashes due to the absence of the protective structure found in cars. Even modest-speed collisions can cause serious injuries. Hit-and-run incidents add further challenges to investigations, as responders often begin with very little information about the vehicle that fled the scene. Witness statements, road markings, and surveillance videos are commonly examined to help determine the responsible driver. On-ramp and merging zones can heighten collision risks because of shifting traffic flows and reduced room for motorcyclists to navigate safely.
