Pedestrian accidents can occur due to various factors, frequently combining roadway conditions with driver or pedestrian behaviors. Pedestrian areas lacking marked crosswalks or with poor visibility can heighten the risk of someone being hit while walking. Speed may also influence the seriousness of such accidents. Greater speeds shorten reaction time and heighten impact force.
