San Jose, CA (March 26, 2026) – A motorcyclist died Tuesday afternoon following a collision with an SUV at the Meridian Ave and Blackford Ln intersection in San Jose. Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 1:20 p.m. after reports of a motorcycle colliding with an SUV. Authorities report that a 2014 Mazda CX-5, operated by an adult male, was heading north on Meridian Ave and turning left onto Blackford Ln. Meanwhile, a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle, ridden by an adult male, was traveling south on Meridian Ave. Officials reported that the motorcycle collided with the SUV while it was turning. The rider was transported to a nearby hospital for care. Even with medical treatment, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Officials have not yet released his identity while they confirm it and notify his family. Authorities stated that the Mazda driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Officials noted that the crash was the ninth fatal traffic accident in San Jose this year. Authorities are still investigating the incident. Our heartfelt condolences go to the deceased’s family.
