The pedestrian was pinned under the vehicle and declared dead on site. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed. Authorities are still investigating the incident. We extend our sympathies to the victim’s family and friends in this challenging period. Pedestrian Safety and Truck-Related Crashes. Collisions between pedestrians and large trucks tend to be severe because of the size and weight of commercial vehicles. Intersections pose special hazards because turning vehicles and poor visibility heighten the chance of crashes. People hit by trucks have a high chance of fatal injuries, particularly if they become trapped under the vehicle.
