(Huntington Beach, CA) On Saturday night, January 31, a man died after a car struck him while he was walking near an intersection in a Beach Boulevard crash. Huntington Beach Police Department officers responded around 9 p.m. to the Beach Boulevard and Heil Avenue area. At the scene, police found a gray BMW 330i and an unconscious pedestrian lying in the road. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and declared the pedestrian dead on site. Officials identified the victim as a 31-year-old resident of Huntington Beach. Authorities have not disclosed his identity until the next of kin are notified. Police stated that the BMW was heading north on Beach Boulevard when it hit the pedestrian. The BMW’s driver, a 23-year-old Reseda resident, was unharmed and stayed at the scene. According to police, the driver cooperated with investigators. Officers indicated that the driver did not seem impaired, and they noted that it was unclear whether the pedestrian was impaired.
