West Covina, CA (September 28, 2025) – A tragic accident on the eastbound 10 Freeway close to the Pacific Avenue off-ramp resulted in the death of one person on Friday morning. The accident, which included a vehicle ablaze, took place during the busy morning rush hour and prompted a large emergency response. Firefighters and officers from the California Highway Patrol reached the location swiftly, where they found an individual trapped inside a car that was fully on fire. Even with attempts to save them, the person was declared deceased at the location. The individual’s identity remains undisclosed until their next of kin have been informed. The incident led to significant holdups on the eastbound side of the 10 Freeway as authorities addressed the fire, recovered the remains, and initiated the preliminary stages of the investigation. The precise count of vehicles implicated and the timeline of events preceding the collision are still being investigated. Officials have not revealed if elements like velocity, equipment malfunction, or other risks played a role in the accident. An extensive inquiry is in progress to find out what led to this situation.
