Madera County, CA – On the night of Saturday, September 17, 2025, a tragic two-vehicle accident resulted in the deaths of four individuals: 6-year-old Serenity Valenzuela, 17-year-old Jezreel Ochoa-Valle, and 15-year-old James Valle. The collision involved a van and a large truck and also resulted in injuries to several others, as reported by KSEE. The California Highway Patrol stated that the incident occurred around 6:00 PM at the intersection of Road 24 and Avenue 7, located west of Ripperdan. Investigators revealed that the van, with five occupants, was heading south on Road 24 towards a stop sign when it collided with a big rig traveling west on Avenue 7. The van went into the intersection ahead of the truck, which collided with it forcefully. The collision threw James and Serenity out of the van. James succumbed to his injuries at the location of the incident. Paramedics took Serenity to Valley Children’s Hospital, where she passed away shortly after arriving. Jezreel sustained severe injuries in the accident. Emergency responders took her to a hospital, where she passed away that evening. The other three passengers in the van survived, but their injuries were characterized as moderate to severe. Authorities have verified that they continue to be admitted to the hospital. The truck driver also suffered injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.
