San Diego, CA (September 29, 2025) – On Saturday evening, a pedestrian was injured when a vehicle hit them while traveling south on State Route 163 close to Ash St in downtown San Diego. The event took place at approximately 9:17 in the evening. which elicited a swift reaction from nearby emergency services. According to information from the California Highway Patrol’s San Diego division, a white BMW was part of the accident. The pedestrian and the vehicle both ended up on the right side of the freeway. Upon the arrival of first responders, witnesses reported that the pedestrian was alert and moving on the ground. Medical staff from Mercy Hospital, along with paramedics from Falk, administered prompt assistance to the injured pedestrian at the location. The person was subsequently taken to Mercy Hospital for additional assessment and care. The exact details of their injuries have not been made known to the public. The event drew media attention soon after emergency responders arrived, underscoring increasing worries about pedestrian safety on fast-moving freeway routes in city settings. Both the car and the pedestrian were removed from the area after the response. Authorities are currently investigating the order of occurrences that resulted in the accident.
