Bicycle Accidents Involving Children in California
Bicycle crashes involving children are particularly concerning due to their vulnerability and smaller size, which can make them harder for drivers to see. Residential and suburban roads like Iron Gateway often have mixed traffic from motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians, increasing the need for caution.
In many cases, collisions occur when drivers fail to notice a child entering the roadway or misjudge their speed and distance. Safety experts encourage parents to equip children with helmets and bright, reflective clothing, and remind drivers to slow down in neighborhoods and areas where kids are likely to be biking.
