Rancho Cucamonga, CA (August 18, 2025) – At least one person was injured Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash on the westbound side of Interstate 210 at the Archibald Ave on-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred just after 8:20 a.m. and involved a white Porsche Cayman and a silver Ford Explorer. The vehicles came to rest on the on-ramp, partially blocking traffic. According to dispatch notes, one of the involved parties was unable to drive their vehicle from the scene, and CHP classified the crash as requiring medical response under code 1141.
The injured individual’s condition was not disclosed, but paramedics were requested to respond to the scene. Both drivers exited their vehicles, and initial accounts suggested the collision occurred near or just before the on-ramp meter light.
Golden Bear Towing was dispatched on priority to recover the Porsche, and lanes were expected to remain affected during the response.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash. No citations have been issued as of this time.
We extend our best wishes to the injured party for a full and swift recovery.
On-Ramp Collisions on California Freeways
On-ramps like the one at Archibald Ave and I-210 W pose unique dangers to drivers due to merging speeds, changing lanes, and sudden braking near metering lights. These areas often become choke points during peak morning hours when visibility may also be reduced by sun glare or high vehicle volume.
Crashes at ramp entry points often involve rear-end or side-impact collisions, especially when one vehicle accelerates too quickly while another slows or stops. Even when injuries are not life-threatening, victims may experience delayed symptoms such as back pain, whiplash, or concussion-related effects that require ongoing care.
Prompt medical evaluation and proper documentation of injuries are essential to protect one’s health and legal rights. Additionally, towing and insurance coordination can present added stress to those already coping with the shock of a crash.
