Los Angeles, CA (September 1, 2025) – On Saturday evening, emergency teams were dispatched to a situation in Los Angeles County that included a traffic crash with injuries and a concurrent assault at a gas station. The report of the incidents came in at approximately 7:09 p.m. on August 31 close to the East Pacific Coast Highway in the Long Beach region. As reported by scanner communications, units from the South Traffic Division and ambulance teams responded to the site of an accident involving injuries on or close to the E Pacific Coast Hwy ramp. Emergency responders attended to at least one person for injuries sustained in an accident at the scene. Soon after, an assault incident was reported at a gas station close to the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and the Pacific Coast Highway. Authorities reported an incident classified as battery involving a male suspect, estimated to be between 40 to 50 years old, who was dressed in a dark shirt and light pants. Authorities arrived at the scene with lights and sirens in response to the situation, and both occurrences have been recorded as part of an ongoing investigation. It has not yet been verified whether there is any connection between the assault and the nearby accident. It is still uncertain if the same people were engaged in both incidents or if these were distinct but interconnected emergencies. Authorities are still probing into both situations and have requested the public to share any pertinent information that could assist in identifying the individuals involved. Traffic in the region was briefly disrupted while police and emergency teams worked together.
