Huntington Beach, CA (September 25, 2025) – Early Thursday morning, emergency services arrived at the site of a hit-and-run accident on the southbound lane of I-405, situated just north of Warner Avenue. The accident, which involved a minimum of two cars and caused injuries, took place in the main lanes before those involved shifted to the central divider of the fast lanes on the freeway. Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, quickly arrived on the scene to assist the injured. As per the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist was part of the incident, and personnel present at the scene assessed whether the motorcycle was in a condition to be ridden and tried to move the rider to the right side of the road. The incident was labeled as a hit-and-run resulting in minor injuries, yet the sight of a motorcyclist on the center divider underscored the significant dangers present. Information reveals that the Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) initially handled the situation but eventually withdrew after confirming lane safety and aiding the CHP. Emergency services were notified shortly after the accident was reported at approximately 7:25 a.m. Medical assistance was called in response to injuries suffered in the accident. It is still unknown how many people were injured, but all affected individuals were treated at the location. As of now, the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run has not been found, and the California Highway Patrol is continuing its inquiry. They are encouraging anyone who saw the accident or has details about the driver who left the scene to reach out to local law enforcement. We extend our heartfelt wishes to those healing from this distressing event and wish for justice in the continuing investigation.
