Corona, CA (August 20, 2025) – A deadly collision on eastbound State Route 91 shut down multiple lanes in Corona Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of one driver and causing extensive traffic backups, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The fatal crash occurred just after 4:00 p.m. on August 18, between Serfas Club Dr and West Sixth St. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene and confirmed that one individual was pronounced dead as a result of the collision. Details regarding the number of vehicles involved or any additional injuries have not yet been released.
Traffic in the area was severely impacted as CHP officers and other agencies worked to investigate the crash and clear the scene. Several eastbound lanes were temporarily closed, causing delays that extended through the evening commute.
