Chula Vista, CA (September 12, 2025) – On Wednesday morning, a traffic collision that caused injuries occurred at the intersection of Broadway and East 8th Street in Chula Vista. This incident led to an urgent emergency response from local fire and medical teams. The accident took place just before 8:00 AM, coinciding with heavy commuter traffic. As reported by Heartland Fire dispatch, emergency crews were deployed using a 6 Echo code, signifying a critical medical emergency. Units from Chula Vista Engine 51, Medics 51, and Squad 61 were dispatched to help the injured individuals. Emergency personnel arrived promptly and started to assess the people involved. Although the exact count of injured individuals remains unverified, medical personnel administered on-site care, and it is probable that at least one person was taken to a local hospital for additional treatment. Traffic was temporarily disrupted near Broadway and E 8th St as emergency responders worked to clear the area and make the road safe for vehicles. Information regarding the cause of the accident and the number of vehicles implicated has not yet been disclosed, and the investigation is still ongoing.
